A lot of that was the fact White Star didn't want anyone reminded of its darkest day (or night), so none of the surviving officers ever got anywhere there. Lowe made Commander in the Royal Naval Reserve in WW I, though, which shows they didn't waste good material.

True, Lee...the RN did seem to be more open-minded than the WSL on that score...Lowe would have made a great captain for a White Star ship...just a shame he never got the chance to see what he could do.

I agree totally with you lights he was indeed a born leader, and the way he handled the fateful night also made him a hero. What he did was courageous and for that he will always be remembered...lowe is another all time favourite of mine, that suprisingly isnt as well known for his life and heroism on the night of the wreck.

he is more known for the night in mention then anything else.

but neverhteless he was held as a hero that night and for the rest of the nights to come.
