Sorry to interrupt here, but this is a topic after my own heart. Officer Lowe is my personal fav officer. The way he took control and went back and rescued people out of the water when everyone else was too chicken scrap to go back.....way to go lowe. A man to really respect!!!!!
I agree with you! I have always admired Harold Lowe for the same reasons.
I read once that while in the lifeboat, he told the ladies to have a nap, and also that they should sing songs such as "roll out the barrell" I don't know how true that is, but it made me laugh at the thought of it...(maybe that says more about my sense of humor)

Re: officer lowe.
Murdoch was too a good man. He was kind and by the book as far as loading those life . I was kind of upset when they portrayed him in Jc's Titanic as someone who would have taken a bribe. He was certainly not that type.
My fave will always be Lowe for his heroic efforts to rescue those poor souls. I like Moody too, and am quite baffled as to what happened to him; though I have my theories for reasons I can not explain.
PS: MA, who is wolflady?

Re: officer lowe.
Very well said Wills...I agree. As far as the others that got into the despite orders, Im not sure that I wouldnt have myself in that situation. That has got to be one of the most frightening ordeals to know that if you stay on a ship, you're going to die a horrible (and cold) death. Im not sure what I would have done in that situation

Re: officer lowe.
That is a great way to look at it Holly.
However some ..not all..but some did refuse a seat in the lifeboat and they decided to go that way.. and that is another point of view to look at.

Re: officer lowe.
All I got to say about those people is VERY NOBEL!!!!!!! What a sacrifice to know that you are going to meet a horrible fate, but you still give up your seat for the good of others...those people were indeed heros in my book.
