CHIEF OFFICER WILDE'S CHILDREN ....
After his untimely death on Titanic the four remaining children went to his sister Ada and her husband.
Though I am certain they did not replace their parents I know that Ada and her husband took very good care of his children.
more to come soon as well....

Re: CHIEF OFFICER WILDE'S CHILDREN ....
Hi
I only just noticed this area....I'm sure I must be blind lol..
I always feel a great affection for Officer Wilde. It just breaks my heart knowing how much he went through losing his twin baby sons and then his wife Polly just three weeks later. It is also so sad to think how much his other children went through..losing their baby siblings, seeing their mother extremely ill and then to loose her, and seeing their father heart broken and then to loose him too.
Every story of the Titanic is sad in some way, but I just feel so much for the Wilde family. I hope they are all happy where ever they are.

Re: CHIEF OFFICER WILDE'S CHILDREN ....
I imagine his last couple of years were very sad...first losing his twin sons so early in life...and then his wife...and on Christmas Eve no less! I am sure that his remaining children were well cared for by Ada and her husband, but of course that cannot replace the awful pain of being orphaned completely within sixteen months. Of all the TITANIC officers, surely his story must be the most tragic.

Re: CHIEF OFFICER WILDE'S CHILDREN ....
I don't know if anybody will find this as interesting as I did..
I have been doing alot of research into Henry Wilde and his family for my website. Anyway, I have been talking to another researcher via email and they told me that Captain Smith's wife took a personal interest in Officer Wilde's children after his death. She even asked that the Titanic Relief Committee send her a report of what they were doing, so she could be sure they were being provided for. I think that shows what a kind and loving woman Eleanor Smith was.

Re: CHIEF OFFICER WILDE'S CHILDREN ....
HI Bess,
Yes she did . She was a great woman . Her and Henry's wife Polly were great friends as were EJ and Henry . So both families did tend to look out for each other. That was very good of her to do that as well.

Do you know where I can find more about Eleanor and Polly being friends? like from books or websites? It would just be interestingto include in my biography of Henry Wilde..

Re: CHIEF OFFICER WILDE'S CHILDREN ....
Yes, from what I understand, Polly and Eleanor were great frinds. I must say that this only raises my esteem for Mrs Smith. She was a truly great lady.
