To My Best Friend and Shipmate
I know I have never quite put this down in words before, but you were my best and dearest friend last life...and a shipmate without equal.
No matter what I was thinking, you seemed to know what it was...you could sense my moods as few others could last life...often you would finish a sentence I was speaking and you would end it just the way I would.
Your death devastated me...I had other friends after Titanic of course, but none to equal you. I would experience something and want to tell you about it, but after Titanic, I knew that I could only say the words in my heart and hope that you heard them.
Still there were times, distinctly felt your presence, such as when i was informed of the deaths of my sons during World War II...just knowing that you were near helped the pain immeasurably. I thank you from my heart for that.
It has meant the world and all to have found my William again and I hope that we will not be parted again this life.

Aye laddie I do believe I am a few shades of red at the moment I do thank you and it was very beautiful. I am sorry that you were heartbroken when I passed and I must say that it was not my intentions. I never meant to hurt you .
