Tunnels and sunlight

Tunnel after tunnel after tunnel
Sunlight dark sunlight dark sunlight dark
Tunnel after tunnel after tunnel

The track stretches seen and unseen
On and on the journey is making me numb
Will this journey end?

Sunlight dark sunlight dark
Sunlight dark sunlight dark

Sounds a wee bit like reincarnation, doesn't it? I liked it, Foxes...keep up the good work.

I have wondered yes, but it was not something I came to understand more until recently. I used to look into it and did so a lot more some months back. It has made more sense of things that I have experienced and I firmly believe that I was around sometime in the 18th century as a mariner in one of the navies, but which I don't know. I also think that I came late to it because of a number of reasons but the main one is I think because I was quite happy with my lot until I was well into my twenties. Then I got married and had a family and got involved in a lot of things localy. By thirty one I was going down hill and suffered with severe depression from 1998 for about two years. I improved greatly after that but still get bouts which may now be just part of my make up coupled with feeling trapped by life. In actual fact that is where the poem came from, looking back on that time.

hmm.
that is interesting that you should mention getting trapped by life. i feel that smae way as well. sometimes. as if no matter what i do im not happy and it just doesnt fit me.

i too think you were a mariner as well. becasue you live on land now and you most likely dont get to the water often so by that you may feel trapped. it is one thing that makes me fel that way too.

Greetings,
I also know how it feels to be trapped by life. I know what it also feels to be unhappy and that I just fit anywhere anymore. It is an interesting poem. Thanks for listening. TTYL, Laters.

Robert
