Roderick Robert Crispin Chisholm's brief bio
Greetings,
My memories of Robert are quite extensive, but will begin with a short bio.
Robert was born in 1872 in Dumbarton, Scotland. His childhood was pretty normal. He was the ships head draughtsman. He went to Belfast in 1895 from Clyde Works at which he went into the Draughtsman office. He was married shortly after going to Belfast to Susan. His first child named Alyse was born in 1897 and his son Jimmy was born 1898. He worked many hours in Harland and Wolff. He was part of the "Guarantee Team" that traveled on first Voyages of new ships. He was very close to Thomas Andrews known to him as Tommie. He did have bad feelings going on Titanic, but not Olympic for a reason I don't know. Titanic was a voyage he got very little sleep with. At the time of the iceburg hitting, he was in his room looking at notes. Then he gets a knock to go see Thomas Andrews and when Tommie had told what had happened. He knew his duty was to the passengers and getting them off and not himself. He spent those hours evacuating passengers and eventually throwing deck chairs. He went to die with Thomas Andrews, but there was a conversation between them and Robert left Tommie to climb the ship towards the stern to try to survive, but unfortunately, he was having problems climbing. When the ship started splitting apart, he tried to hold on and couldn't and eventually drowned. If anyone wants to know more about Robert, you can ask and I probably can answer them. Thanks for listening. TTYL, Laters.

Greetings,
It isn't much, but didn't want to get into a lot of detail unless somebody wanted to know. Thanks for listening. TTYL, Laters.

Re: Roderick Robert Crispin Chisholm's brief bio
Greetings,
I know for some of us that died that tragic night, it is hard to talk about. I mean I remember his death quite thoroughly and there were years, I couldn't talk about it as it hurt so bad. I mean it feels I am there when I experience his death again, but I have learned to overcome the pain about talking about it. I hope to someday write a book about it, but I am still sensitive to it. Thanks for listening. TTYL, Laters.
