posticon Piracy on the High Seas

Wills,

I am sure that you no doubt heard about the pirate attack onboard Captain Richard Phillip's Maersk-Alabama Merchant Flagship off the Somali Coast on the Indian Ocean? For which he offered to be taken hostage, inplace of his crew.

As you already know, there was a happy ending to this incident at sea...for which our Navy came to his rescue. Richard tried to escape once...and then he tried again, and this time he was able to get away from his captors. One of them was aboard the USS Bainbridge, trying to make negotians...while the his three companions were onbard the M-A lifeboat, with their guns aimed at Richard.

This lifeboat was about 40/or 50 miles away from the Somali coast. Anyhoo, after Richard successfully made his second attempt to escape, he was took aboard the above Navy ship.

When the three remaining Somalian stuck their heads outside the lifeboat to get air, our Navy Seals blasted their brains out. emoticon

What's so special about Captain Richard Phillips, you may ask!? Well, to me personally, his personality reminds me of Will's own sweet unassuming personality. That's what I noticed about him, after he had been returned home to Burlington, Vermont, aboard the Maersk Company planeto be reunited with his family. When he stepped-up to the mikes to humbly thank everyone for their prayers...he also said that the Navy Seals were the real heroes, not him.
