hi ttf,
fom what i can gather from notes of mine..
she hit a rock square on around 3:15 am about 50 yards off the coast of meagher's island. in the county of nova scotia.
it was on april 1st 1873.of the 957 people aboard her 545 perished.
i have her measurements and a various other things if you would like to see them.

Just to bring this up to date a bit, Atlantic's captain was attempting to put in at Halifax for coal...which it turned out he didn't need...there was some bit on this someplace I read a while back...it was one of the contributing factors according to the Inquiry held afterwards...this was one of the reasons that his Master's ticket was suspended for two years...it might have been cancelled completely, but the Inquiry felt that since he had remained fully dressed in order to come back onto the bridge at around 3AM, he should merely have it suspended for two years instead of losing it completely.
