Re: atlantic.

It’s been a long time since I have done any research on Atlantic but from my head…. Atlantic’s Captain had apparently arranged that his steward would wake him up at a certain time but when the steward arrived on the bridge he was told by the officer in charge to not wake him up and that he would do it. If the steward had woken him up the Captain would have been on the bridge at the time.

I think earlier in the day the fireman had done something like clean the boilers and did not tell the Captain or his officers that they had and if they had not done it or told the captain maybe Atlantic would not have sunk.

According to one of the April 1912 Daily Mirrors (a UK newspaper) Atlantic was the worst disaster in maritime history until Titanic.

Yes,

That is somewhat what I remember . However like you I have done very little research lately been too busy.

If you do not include the paddle boat steamship the SULTANA. then yes the Atlantic is the worst perhaps....

For those interested I have found a link that is a good read... especially if you are just finding out about the Atlantic.

Re: atlantic.

Greetings,
Very interesting information about the Atlantic. I think personally, if my father had allowed me to go sea, I would have been an officer, but so to please him, I did the next best thing by building them. Thanks for listening. TTYL, Laters.

From,
Robert
