Loglines

I've been trying to write a good logline for the novel I'm getting ready to pitch. Anyone else done this in the past and have any tips?

Re: Loglines

Sorry, Sherry, I don't. What exactly are "loglines"?

Re: Loglines

Oh, a logline is a one-sentence description of your novel (or screenplay) intended to intrigue editors or publishers. emoticon

For instance:

The Da Vinci Code
A murder in the silent after-hour halls of the Louvre museum reveals a sinister plot to uncover a secret that has been protected by a clandestine society since the days of Christ.

I'm finding that it takes a lot of hard thinking to boil a novel down to one sentence!

Oh, I see!

Yes, that's like doing the reverse of the Snowflake Method.

Sherry, if you feel like posting what you have here, I'll gladly help you polish it until it shines. Or we can do that through PM, or in the workroom on my board, if you'd rather do it privately.

Re: Loglines

A logline sounds like a way difficult thing to do, like the elevator speech (describe your job in a 3 minute elevator ride).
Sorry, no suggestions here.
