Yes, but it works. One is a fellow editor and published author with more conservative ideas. The other is a proofreader without any comfort zone boundaries.

You know... (maybe... maybe not)
There's a site I use sometimes to get 'honest' crits from other writers: 'Critique Circle'.
I've submitted a couple of my short stories, and received a variety of opinions and comments back, that I never would have imagined.
Usually I just get 5 crits back, but they a usually about 300 - 400 words, I find the feedback very informative, and helpful.
I'm sure there are other similar sites for critique help, somewhere...
