Greetings

Hi. I'm Naca. Long time lurker first time poster. I've been posting on a few other message boards since the end of December 2005. I'm currently writing a fantasy novel. This is my first attempt at writing for an audience besides myself and a teacher. I've always like writing and have a VERY vivid imagination. I tend to zone out and just think of strange what if questions.

Hi naca!

Nice to see you posting! emoticon

The transition from writing just for yourself and your own personal enjoyment to trying to reach out to a wider audience can be a very exciting time. Have you tried coercing family and 'friends' to read any of your work? I've found this to be a good stepping stone also, as they tend to be gentle and supportive (while not always giving the brute honesty you might desire - you'll get that from editors! emoticon ).

What's your Fantasy novel about?

Glad to see you on board. Hope to hear more from you soon!

Re: Greetings

I've been having my fiance read it. She hates fantasy and she tells me its boring because its fantasy, but she thinks over all its a good story so far. I'm still writing the rough draft, on the fourth chapter page 40 emoticon

The story is about a mage who trying to find his way in the world. He's an outlaw because he works water (which is to say he uses water in magic). He meets up with another and basically they're on the run. In the end the other guy tries to get him to go back to the guys hometown to help with a resistance movement and well things start to happen.

Oh, I get it. A water mage. That's why it's called 'Waterfall'. Could be interesting. Sounds like a 'coming of age' story. How old is the main character? 21-ish?

Keep writing...
