hola
Hi.
I'm MaryBeth.
I hate when people spell my name wrong but I wont get into that.
I'm thirteen and thinking about posting here if there are other people around my age in here?
If not, then you can completely ignore this post.
I've been writing since.. forever..
I knew the alphabet at ten months..
I attempted to write a novelish thing in fifth grade. It sucked. Then, my laptop broke and lost all of it.
Mainly, I write about depression and suicidal stuff. I have no idea how you would clasify the stuff I write.
I SUCK at spelling, so sorry for spelling mistakes since there's no spell check on here and if there is, I have no idea how to work it. Typos love me. Sorry about that too.
My mom is trying to self-publish this 'novel' thing I wrote but I don't really know if I want my work published.
I don't even know how she found out about my story thing. It sucks too.
In my writing, I have horrible problems with using the same words over and over again. Also, the whole changing tenses thing is a big problem. There was another problem too but I can't really remember what it is since it's two in the morning and I can't think straight.
Sometimes, my self-eestem crashes and I'll stop writing and completely give up on it.
Horrible times.
Just saying.
yeah.
hi.

Re: hola
Hi MaryBeth, welcome!
Writing is basically a craft, and it takes practice to write well and without typos. You're starting early, which is great! (I started writing stories at the old age of 35.)
I don't know if there are other 13-year-olds on this board, but don't worry. Age really doesn't matter much - what counts is being a writer.
At any rate, I wish you lots of fun with writing your own stuff.

Re: hola
Hi MaryBeth! Welcome to the board!
As Firle says, none of us start out writing perfectly, and there's lots to learn, practice, and discuss. Hanging out with other writers is a great way to do that!
I hope you stick around!
Sherry

Re: hola
Hi MaryBeth. If you don't want your mum to publish your work, you should tell her. I'm sure she'll understand.
I'm currently planning a non-fiction project to do with suicide at the moment.

Re: hola
Hey MaryBeth!! Glad to see that you are thinking of posting here. The other's are right. It takes time to perfect your craft. I am 24 and I started writing stories in first grade. Guess what? I'm still far from perfect, in my opinion. And if you don't want your mom to self publish your story, then tell her. Do it at your pace. Hope to see you around!!
