*pokes head in curiously* .....Allo?

Salutations, fellow writer-folk. In an effort to procrastinate even further from working on final projects for my university, I've decided to indulge in some ol' fashioned writing geekiness and test out this forum.

So, let's see. I'm 20, female, will be graduating with a BA in English in less than a week (eep!) and then going on to get an MFA in Creative Writing in the fall.

Writing-wise, I've been at this literally half of my life and am hitherto unpublished, due in large part to not spending near enough time actually submitting manuscripts. I write all over the genre board, but my usual safe-haven is that amalogous area between science fiction, fantasy, and horror, with the occasional foray to the more "literary" endeavors when the mood strikes me.

At present I've got three short stories I'm tentatively tossing around for publication, and am in the process of revising a third (officially titled "Falling Away" but generally referred to as "that dead guy story"). I'm also working on a novel, Carnal Jesus, a political dystopia that has consumed the last four years of my life. It's my baby, and come hell or high water the goal is to get it finished before I hit grad school in August.

That's pretty much me in a nutshell. I was a member of the forum community at Inkspot long, long ago and part of me has always yearned for a replacement, so I suppose this is yet another attempt at that. When I'm not writing (which is often these days) I'm usually consumed by school, but in my off-time I'm an avid roleplayer, self-proclaimed film snob, and Free-cell champion.

Looking forward to meeting the lot of you, and finding more and more productive ways to avoid my homework.

Cheers,
--Fenshae

Hello Fenshae, and welcome to the board.

Thanks for your introduction - that hardly leaves any question for me to put out. emoticon

I think that getting manuscripts out is a little hard, at least for me. After all, one exposes one's little babies to the cold eyes of those editors. They don't care how much effort and love we writers put into a story, either, they judge. (Although there are nice editors out there, too.)

Anyway, welcome!

Hello and welcome. Best of luck with your submissions. Without them we remain unpublished. emoticon

I mainly write fantasy, usually for children aged 8 to 12, but occasionally for adults too.

I hope to "chat" with you in the forums.

Hello Fenshae, and welcome to the board. You sound like me--lots of projects to be juggled all the time! The board's been quiet lately but hopefully I'll have more time now to poke my head in again.

Greetings and Hello,
I've been jugging much lately, but I'm hoping to spend more time here.
Practicing writing is great, if that's what you want to do; I've been doing that for years. I'm trying to move myself into the publishing writing phase, just in time for retirement emoticon !
When the forum is active, it's a great source of encouragement, inspiration, and also a great place to hang out and waste time while plots cook on the back-burner of your mind.
Welcome to our little world...
