A new way of looking at rejections...


In the book I'm currently reading, written by a former editor, she says, "Editors don't reject manuscripts, they decline them."

It's true that having a manuscript "declined" does sound kinder than having it "rejected." So from now on, I'm going to try and think of rejections as "declinations" instead.

I doubt that they'll sting any less, though. emoticon
