Re: Children's Fantasy
Well Scribe,
I did say it was a barely functioning blog!
The feedback features don't seem to record anything. And I kept getting goofy ads stuck in my Feedback area. Like, Viagra, gambling, etc....
But I do receive e-mail notifications of feedback responses. Thanks! I'm happy to hear that you liked "Scary Thing in the Closet"! It's a fun little thing.
Anyway... I'm hoping to find a new blog home...somewhere....

You should try Blogger. Or was there some reason you couldn't use that? I forget.

Yes, blogger is quite good really. I used it before I got my own domain and find it easy to use.

Re: Children's Fantasy
Hi. Remember me?
I get to join you all here in fantasy land because I'm planning on doing a fantasy book for middle school aged kids for Nano this year.
It's an idea that my step-son and I came up with as a writing project a couple of years ago. We did a character list and a short backstory and wrote maybe three chapters. I always loved the concept and kept thinking about it after the writing partnership ceased. Writing with a -then- 12 year old kept getting in the way of where I wanted the story to go!
Anyway, he'll get full credit - 'based on a concept developed with ....' - as co-creator when it gets published to rave reviews.
At the moment, I'm trying to come up with a working title. That seems necessary to me before I start writing!

Re: Children's Fantasy
Sherry,
I just grabbed a bunch of your toolbox stuff on world building and character sheets and plot planning... so now I'm really ready...
to get ready.
The good news is that I'm beginning to catch the fever. It's been a loooong while since I felt it. {{{shiver}}}

Re: Children's Fantasy
Fever? Oh, not that kind of fever! That's alright then.
Creating the world is all part of the fun where fantasy is concerned. I hope you enjoy yourself. Best of luck.

Re: Children's Fantasy
I hope I can help you writers. I like writing fantasy as well, every single story I've wrote seems to be fantasy. If I may, I'd like to ask a question: How are Science Fiction and Fantasy in the same boat? Every time I see the word Fantasy, there's always an 'and Science Fiction'
