Yolanda,

I see you're reading a book titled "Bloodsucking Fiends". What is that about? Is it a vampire story? I ask because that's what my Dark Fantasy Novel (the unfinished one) is about.

I'm currently writing a fantasy too. Its (vaguely) about a slave who falls in love with a spy who is imprisoned by a queen, and the slave joins rebels to free her lover. It's the first of (a pentrilog, a penogy?) a five book series culminating in the almost complete destruction of the world. There'll be a follow up series too.

Re: Current Fantasy Works

I'm doing the final edits on the last fantasy short I wrote, a murder mystery. Hopefully I'll be ready to submit it soon, because it's been hanging around my desk for far too long.

Who is working on a fantasy story currently?

I have three current projects:

1) My Novel - It's in final edit stage and stands at around 120,000 words (which was cut down from 200,000 words).

2) Anthology Story - It's in planning stages but I do have the first scene written. I have until the end of April to get this to a polished state.

3) Collaborative Novel - Still writing the first draft. Currently at 50,000 odd words but it looking mighty fine, even if I do say so myself.

Wow, Scribe, busy, busy!

You did some serious chopping to trim down your novel that much. Nice job. Did that process take a long time, and did you have to be quite ruthless?

Blitzen, how far along are you in your slave and the spy story? Are you just outlining, or have you written any scenes yet?

And yes, Sherry, submit that murder/mystery fantasy short, you know that I think it's great! And you have multiple genres covered so marketing should be a breeze!

By hand? Egads!

I'm just so out of practice with writing things by hand. A page or three is about all I can manage at a time.

I'll have to retrain myself if Robert Silverberg's aliens ever arrive and turn off the big switch that's called electrical power on Earth. emoticon

I find the creativity flows better when I write by hand.

Hi Jule!

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond, I just haven't been around for a week or so... yeah, BLOODSUCKING FIENDS is a vampire story! It was really wacky and bizarre but I REALLY enjoyed it!

Oooooh, I love vampire stories! How's it moving along - your novel I mean!

Yolanda!

I read about your writing progress on another thread - how the hell do you still have time to read with that kind of output? Don't you sleep? Or do the vampire stories keep you awake?!

 emoticon

And my own vampire story... well, I'm kind of at a standstill on it for now, but I'll get back on track soon. I'm well over 50,000 words, so there's no turning back now. I'll keep plugging along and the words should start flowing again soon. Just like the blooood, hee hee hee emoticon emoticon emoticon
