I do (somehow) find the time to sleep. Between my little girl, the writing, part-time work and everyday life I do keep pretty busy during the day! Still, where I manage to get the majority of writing done is while my daughter's at preschool on Monday & Tuesday. I pretty much spend all day on that... as for the reading, I haven't done any during the last week or so. But now that the book's written, I'm going to reward myself with some reading!
50k on your vampire novel's pretty good! Hope you get a chance to get back to it soon... keep us posted on how it goes.

Hey Yolanda,
After a major writing funk, finally returned to my novel today! Thanks for asking about it!
I'm doing Scene Summaries to help inspire me to finish it and to get a start on the editing process. I'm on Chapter 3, Scene 1 with that part of it.
Also wrote 3 1/2 more pages and my total word count is now over 54 K. Hopefully, the block is busted and I'm back on track!

I have two projects on the go, and one in the pipes at the moment:
1) A completed short story currently doing the rounds with an anthology project. That was a fantasy/coming of age story, kind of (although certainly adult fantasy).
2) Another short story with an almost fully formed plot, and the first scene written. Again fantasy, but also a tragedy - it's a very close up view of one of the historical events that relates directly to my,
3) Novel. Due to study, work and other committments, however, I've had to put this on hold for the year. Not an easy decision, but one I had to make for my own sanity. I'm hoping that time off will help the muse get back into shape.
So I really have only one piece I'm currently working on, but I think that's my limit as it will be quite an emotionally draining story to write. Good thing it's a short story.

I had an idea today for a new fantasy short story featuring my series character.
Don't know when I'll get to write it, but I'm excited at the prospect. I'll need a few months for it to simmer, anyway.
So far I have a title and not much more. But it's a start!

Well, now I've given up on the second SF idea I had for the Winter anthology and started writing a fantasy. I have no title yet, which really bugs me, but I do have a very interesting character and a problem that she has to solve. Not much to go on, but I'm having fun with it so far.

My fantasy novel. I thought it was aimed at young adults but that changed on Thursday. <grin>
I'm pleased about that because I have a couple of scenes that were not 100% suitable for young adults. Now I don't have to delete them (or amend them).
I'm sitting on 86,310 words and have 3 chapters to go, so I'll finish within the 100,000 limit I've set myself.
