Re: Current Fantasy Works

Hi everyone

I am currently writing on a story that I "saved" from an rpg that stalled out. I thought that it had too much potential to just fizzle out like it was. I have taken a short pause on the story to do some devlopment on the world, a few of the characters that weren't originally mine and the 'religion' of one of my characters.

I usually seem to have more success with world buildng then wrapping the story(ies) around that instead of writing first.

Well, I have to admit that one certain rpg has inspired me to do a story as well - not that I'm anywhere near to writing it.

Re: Current Fantasy Works

I've found story inspiration in role-playing, that's for certain. I think the important thing is to make sure there's an actual *story* in there, not just a cool setup or characters. I've had some stories stall for that reason. However the ones I've really thought through have worked out well.

But I think it's also important, as Jk says, to have the background details firmly in place before you start writing. They're not just window dressing, they should be integral to the story.

Good luck with the story, Jk!
