Good words

I, for one, would love to have a more varied vocabulary in my writing.

Let's post little used but richly descriptive, colorful, precise, playful, lyrical words here for us all to try and work into our writing. I'm not that interested in words that no one has ever heard of... I want my readers to know what I'm talking about... but unusual words are good too.

What are your favorite words?
