posticon The LOST Challenge

If you were the main writer for 'LOST' - the television series. What twists and turns would you write for the series?????

There's a lot of fertile ground here, so let your creativity fly!

Why is John Locke, the paraplegic, able to walk on the island? Isn't he starting to get a little odd? What's his problem?

What's with those ghostly images of Walt? Just what is his 'special' power? How will it help or hurt the castaways?

Where did the 'Others' come from? Who are they?

If the castaways don't enter the 'lottery numbers' into the computer in time... what will happen? Trigger a nuclear device?

What happened to Desmond? Where could he have gone? It's an island!!! Could he be with the lost stewardess? Hmmmm...

What is this island? Why was the Dharma project (apparently) discontinued if it's so important/dangerous? And where's Greg??????

Pick your favorite characters and give a brief synopsis for your own personal 'LOST' storyline, outline, plots, or plans.

I'm thinking....

Re: The LOST Challenge

Well, for one thing I would have Locke become 'one' with the Island, and start doing things that he perceives as being in the best interest of the Island, not the group. He'll also find oneness with the Others and betray the group.

Walt will transform into something else. Perhaps one of the black smoke monsters. But a friendly one, who will speak to the survivors via images cast in the smokey shadows. (The boy actor will have grow too fast for a LOST's season (= 41 days) to be realistic so he has to be written out somehow...) Or maybe he will can become the ghost in the machine! And speak through the Dharma computer's dumb terminals.

And... something dangerous and odd HAS to happen when castaway's finally forget or don't enter the lottery numbers into the computer. I'm going with a nuclear meltdown countdown. They'll have 108 minutes to figure how to prevent the whole island from becoming a big mushroom cloud.

Oh, also... I would have the origin of the Others as... a band of misfits from a marooned traveling circus. That would explain Polar Bears on a tropical island. Maybe.

Other ideas?

I've never watched LOST! I can't even really get a clear idea of what it's about. Sure seems popular, though.

Re: The LOST Challenge

LOST is like Gilligan's Island... on steriods! emoticon

Ha!

Instead of just a story of a group of 40 survivors from Oceanic flight 814 - it's the story of the island itself - in a way. In a weird way. This is a strange place, you soon find out. And the survivors are not alone. Also... these survivors have a LOT of hidden baggage that is slowly revealed as the season progresses. Murderers, convicts, cancer patients, con men, heroin addicts, pretend priests, etc. And only one doctor!

What I think will happen>>> We see with John Locke and Rose that their terminal illnesses have completely vanished since landing on the island. My prediction> Somehow... someone will turn off power in the discovered 'hatch' aka Dharma Project - The Swan. We know that strong magnetic fields are eminating from this hatch. Once they lose power - the magnetic fields will disapate. And we will find Rose discovering her cancer is back and John Locke once again a cripple.... it's been the magnetic fields that have healed them! And now they are gone!

Other LOST ideas/plots????

Always thinking....emoticon

Re: The LOST Challenge

As Season #4 begins....

Any theories as to what is going on on LOST?

Who are the Oceanic 6? Hurley. Kate. Jack. And... The person who died in last season's final whom we didn't see? Julia (Julian?) ? I'm assuming Sawyer is one, and that Kate's with him. Who else?

And why only these six?

Where is everyone else? I'm assuming still on the island... so why isn't anyone sending help to them? To save them? ???? They can't ALL want to stay on the island! Other than John Locke.

It's crazy!

What do think is going on???????
