Hey Keri, welcome to the group!

I don't write dedicated romance, but I'm working on injecting more romance into my current project to build on character relationships from my first novel.

Good luck on your first novel!

Re: Romance Writer

Hey everyone!

My novel is about two werewolves who are being forced into an arranged "marriage/mating", and of course they both protest. They have just a few days to get accustomed to the idea of never being with anyone else, when they meet each other. I've got about 10 chapters right now. I'm not really aiming this one towards any market at the moment, just letting it play out.

Is there any influence from the White Wolf "Werewolf: The Apocalypse" RPGs in this story?

Nope, not that I'm aware of. Where can I check that out so I don't write something that's been acted out or written? That would be awful. emoticon

I'll look for some links and get back to you. This game has been around since the early 90's. Your best bet is to do a Google search for "Werewolf: The Apocalypse" to see what you find.

Re: Romance Writer

Hey Keri!

Mostly I write supernatural-themed tales with horror elements. But the paranormal romance label has spread so much I think that many of my works could actually be classified into that sub-genre. Which is fine with me.

I love reading paranormal romance, so there's nothing wrong with writing it too!

Your werewolf tale sounds interesting. I've managed to weave werewolves into two of my three first drafts written throughout the last year. Can't help myself! And there's such a huge werewolf market out there now in novel land!

Good luck with it.

I'll keep checking this Romance thread so we can talk some more soon!

I don't think you need to worry about unintentionally copying them. White Wolf have a very specific and complex mythology, and yes it does include werewolves but it has so much other baggage hung on to that basic idea that nobody is ever going to come up with the same stuff independently!

Werewolves are "public domain", no matter how much White Wolf might wish otherwise emoticon

I agree, there are sooooo many takes on the werewolf theme that adding your own to the list won't be a prob! Just have fun creating your own werewolf lore... emoticon
