Sent out my first short story I got my first submission out that hasn't been returned outright.
The editors of an Australian anthology are now reading my Minkus story. It's a paying market (marginally so), so I hope that'll gain me my first small publishing credit.

Re: Sent out my first short story Good luck, Firle!
My first rejection of 2006 was a leftover from 2005--10 months later! I had given up on ever hearing from this market and re-subbed the story elsewhere. Just as well they didn't take it, I guess.

Re: Sent out my first short story I think "established literature" takes the same stance on fantasy just about everywhere. But we don't have to listen to what they say, do we?
