Online Markets
Looking through print magazines again and again as I'm trying to find a home for my shorts, I have begun to wonder:
Are paying online markets worth it? Do they give you publishing credits, even as they burn your story?
My problem is a lack of exposure. Most ezines put a story up online for about three months, and then they take it down. That's not a lot of time for a story to be known, but it's enough time for print magazines to refuse to take it.
Is it worth it?

Re: Online Markets
Good questions, Firle!
I'd really like to know if online markets are worth it, too! What kind of exposure does your story get?
I've heard rumors that print markets won't consider your story if it's been 'published' online. Is that true? And, to what extent?
???

Re: Online Markets
It's true that most print markets won't take stories that have been published online, even for a short time. At least I keep reading that in the guidelines.

Re: Online Markets
Well, I guess that's just the last resort when nobody wants my Minkus story. Then I'll put it up on my site, for everyone to enjoy.

Mea Culpa!
I just realized... I have several Blogs and junk floating around on the web... And I never create links to this site, myself!
Oh, well!

Re: Online Markets
Yeah, I'm planning to redo the site somewhat, using more keywords in the text and thus getting it higher up on google.
And then the links will get revamped, too.
