posticon Vacation!!

I'm going on a vacation. It is typical of me, vacations are never just vacations. It's like I can't justify relaxing.
So, no family visits. I'm not sick. But, I am going to spend 3 of my 10 days at a conference in Kauai.
I'm so excited. I'm buying Martha a snorkel set for her birthday (5 days before we leave).
And the discounts that we're getting on the travel are balanced out by the cost of the conference. I'm hoping to connect with my future employer there... I have 307 days to find a new job.

I'll take lots of pictures! I'll have my laptop and my digital camera with me.

Re: Vacation!!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!
I went to my conference and realized that, in terms of my career as a tech writer, I'm ahead of the curve. I have been exposed to lots of things, I'm a jane-of-all-trades.
Now, I just need to find a job! LOL (I still have 275 days, as of this writing.)
Kauai was absolutely wonderful and I relaxed for the first time in YEARS. I snorkeled, got past the panic attack. Flew across the ocean without once screaming or even demanding the life history of the pilots.
Wrote a draft of a short story. Boom. One sitting.
Worked on my outline for my novel. Drew a map of the town it takes place in.
Took photos and read lots.
