Re: Music, who are your favorite artists?
If I'm going to write on that desert island I'll have to have something by George Winston--he's my most consistent musical muse.
Other than that, the choices are tough. How about if I just take whatever will fit on my .mp3 player? I guess I'll have to find a way to run in on solar power...

Re: Music, who are your favorite artists?
I've been wanting an MP3 player for months. I bought my sister one for her 50th birthday last year. She called me up and asked me how to do some things with it and I had to admit that I had no idea, I didn't have one. There was a long stunned silence on the phone. My sister considers me a rich techno-geek... because I work at a job LOL!! She's a free-spirit artist (you can see her work at FerryTale Studio.
As far as music to work by, I prefer music that either doesn't have words, doesn't have words I understand, or has words that I know so well I don't have to listen to them. Otherwise the words in the song and the words on my page get all confused.

Down here in the US they're cheaper than the Brits.... LOL
I guess my 3 would be
Ali Farka Toure - I'm not sure which one, maybe his new one, I've heard it is the best (he's dead, he died just after he finished recording his last one...)
Ellen McIllwaine - Women in Emotion
Tragically Hip - Road Apples
At least if I were washed away to sea today... that's what I'd have in my pocket.

Ooh, I just made a musical discovery that I love: Afro Celt Sound System. Fantastic writing music for me! However if you're not into ethnic fusion...

Re: Music, who are your favorite artists?
My tastes change all the time, so I always have different favorites...
Saw (heard actually) The Planets by Holst performed by the Cleveland Orchestra this past December with a video presentation of each planet as captured by recent space probes. So that was cool.
The CD I have been listening to the most recently however, is a little old band called Sytx - One With Everything.

Re: Music, who are your favorite artists?
I just saw the most fabulous concert by the Barenaked Ladies on the weekend. Oh, my, it was good! Well worth the four and a half hour drive!!
