 An a la "Kate & Leopold" fanfic story..."WMM & Wendy" style
I know that I started this story some time back for which I used a different name for my heroine, but the idea of it fell flat...so I put it on the back burner. I was thinking about starting it back up again, under Will's urgings.
If anyone has seen the Kate & Leopld movie starring Meg Ryan (who's the actor who played "Leopold"?), it should give you an idea of what I have in mind for my story.
My story begins when a young twentysomething Will Murdoch comes to New York to seek a berth aboard the Lydgate, but through some strange form of circumstances...he winds-up in 1978, right out of his 1897 era. He instead, misses his boat, but is befriended by a young lady named, Wendy (her surname, I am still in the dark about), a resident of Greenwich Village. She shares a loft with her cousin, Mandy, and the two of them are seeking still yet another roommate. Will is an answer to their prayers.
The part I am having trouble with, is getting Wendy & Will from off Pier 57, to her GV flat...when it comes to their conversation, as they head home. At any rate, due to her kindness to him, Will finds himself quite takened with Wendy...and she too, feels the same way towards him.
I am going to work it so that Will can see both the smash hit Broadway Musical "Annie" and The Magic of Lassie movie, which was shown at that time in the Radio City Music Hall, is in my story. In the latter, Will gets to see both Lassie & his owner-trainer, Rudd Weatherwax; and the Rockettes perform.
What do you think of my idea, and if so--please if you like, help me with my story!? Okay!?

It came to me this afternoon, that I should write this story "I Was A Stranger, And You Took Me In"...in a way that sounds like my lead female character has already done extensive research on Will, and knows practically everything about him.
When the two of them meet on Pier 57, which is one pier north/or south of the White Star Line (Chelsea...) piers 58 & 59, she instantly recognizes him. She willingly listens to him, so that she'll know when is his life his experiences happened. That way, he is completely astounded at her innate knowledge of him, for which he is greatly impressed with her too...
