Noah's Ark

Last night on the TBN (Trinity Broadcasting Network), I watched a movie titled Noah.

I was totally amazed to see the many different types of animals coming to board the Ark...as well as getting completely tickled at how Noah's fellow townsfolk reacting to them as they lumbered through town.

To make the long story short, when dry land was finally spotted, after the Dove God had Noah send to look for land, had returned to the Ark with a figleaf in its beek. As the Ark floated towards these mesa-looking high table-tops and rested, from the from the force of the impact, she too, like Titanic, sustained a big hole on the portside of her hull.

All-in-all, I thought this was a great film...with actor Jon Voight as Noah.

You may have to go to Jon Voight's page at:

http://www.imdb.com

and then look for Noah in his movie credits. But this film now is apart of the TBN Film Library, which is why they were able to air it.

Also last night on the same channel, I saw The Robe, starring Richard Burton & Victor Mature. The robe, that is the highlight of the story, was worn by Jesus, at the time of His crucifixion. When Jesus' blood dropped on Burton's character's hand as he leaned on the cross, he was driven mad/insane. But later on in the story when Mature's charcter presented him with the robe, for which he finally took and held it...it healed him of his madness.

Re: Noah's Ark

Noah's Ark, is indeed, on Turkey's Mount Ararat! If you happen to own one of those Igloo plastic lunchboxes, you're going to appreciate this tidbit of news...

The actual shape of the Ark, looks like a "long" Igloo-shaped box, with the windows going down the center of its roof. That is, so she could withstand high mountainess waves, without taking in any sea water during the flood. The walkways inside her structure, goes right down the center of her three decks, below the windows. In-other-words, she was structurally sound.

This, I learned, while watching TBN. emoticon

Re: Noah's Ark

Well, we have been reading ancient classics in English, and Noah's Ark was brought up. The dimensions of the Arch were in cubits, and assuming cubits are what we believe to be 17.5 inches, the Arch was supposedly about 460 feet long, 43 tall, and 72 wide. The displacement, according to my Engish teacher was equivalent to that of the Titanic. I'll have to ask her about that one, but what I found most interesting was the fact that the Ark's construction was very safe, and that the 6 to 1 ratio of dimensions mentioned in the bible about her is still used even today to build ships. The vessel was said to have looked like a retangular box as well.

What a way to go, Mr Titanic!? emoticon Your above demensions of the Ark, come remarkably close!

In my new The Answer Image, in Genesis 6:14-16, it gives Noah's Ark's size as the following:

Build a boat of cypress wood for yourself. Make rooms in it and cover it inside and outside with tar. This is how big I want you to build the boat: 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high. Make an opening around the top of the boat that is 18 inches from the edge of the roof down. Put a door in the side of the boat. Make an upper, middle, and lower deck in it.

Those are indeed the dimensions I was refrencing, Thank you. I thought the idea the ratio is still used today was very interesting, because it truly shows how the architecture of the vessel was very sophisticated. I'd really be interested in knowing if the Titanic was also constructed with that in mind, which I believe it was. emoticon

Welp, God gets the whole entire credit for coming up with the original dimensions for the Ark...for which He instructed Noah how to build His ship with.

God is to the Ark, what Thomas Andrews was to Titanic.emoticon

Re: Noah's Ark

Guess what!? I am of Armenian ancestry on my late Father's side of our Family Tree. I've discovered from this Armenia link:

http://enwikipedia.org/wiki/Armenia

that since ALL Armenians descend from Togarmah, the great grandson of Noah...my ancestry can be Biblically traced back, beginning with Haik, the gt. gt. gt. grandson of the famous original shipbuilder. Beginning with Adam & Eve, and their third son, Seth, is who my Armenian lineage originates from. emoticon

How does that grab ya' guys!?
