Kate Winslet (Rose Dewitt Bukater)
Guess what? I finally got to see Kate's FINDING NEVERLAND, for which she did with actor Johnny Depp. My sister-in-law, CC, loaned me her rented-out DVD, and that's how I got to see it.
I loved it, plus--I got emotional when Kate died at the end.
Anyhoo, I surely hope that you guys too, get to see it as well.

Re: Kate Winslet (Rose Dewitt Bukater)
Yes I did hear that was a fine movie indeed. I am excited, there are a few movies I have wanted to see. That and the Movie Britannic (Which I read, and assumed was just a cheap quickie made to rip off James camerons TITANIC fame). Though it still is a movie in regards to a liner related to Titanic so I suppose it should be worth my time. Two Titanic related movies Ive gotta see! Thanks MA!

Hey! I too, would love to see BRITANNIC...since it "is" about the sister ship of OLYMPIC and TITANIC. I rather doubt that it is a cheap quickie made to rip off JC's film...for she "did" play an important role during WWI, did she not?
BTW, I "really" like the new look of our board. It's totally cool!!!

Re: Kate Winslet (Rose Dewitt Bukater)
Thanks! I made a thread about the new skin in the engine room, glad you like it!
Actually, Britannic itself did serve a major role. But the movie was released not too soon after TITANIC Was released in theaters. Reviews of the film state it is indeed a cheap knock off of the film Titanic, and was done poorly. Regardless, I want to see it!

Britannic also served as an hospital ship during WWI, for which she sank some where near the Mediterranean Sea, after getting hit by a torpedo. But quite unlike her sister, Titanic, the majority of her passengers survived. Plus, she is in complete intact, except for the hole in her portside bow just below her forward well deck. And like you, I want to see it too!

Re: Kate Winslet (Rose Dewitt Bukater)
Actually Tammy Britannic was beleived to have hit a mine, the captain tried to beach her but it was too late. She sank in the Kea Channel. About 400 feet of water, and was discovered by Jacques Cousteau 60 years after sinking in 1916. She is intact but lies on her port side unlike Titanic which is upright. Although yes she is whole with the exception of the blow she took to her port bow. She is the largest liner to ever sink, the largest on the ocean floor, to this day.
Now yes the Britannic did have quite the story to tell, but the movie is an inacurate potrail of her history, and was done quickly and released during the Titanic craze. So it is not so popular, and her story is not as dramatic as Titanic.
The few people that did die on her were because one lifeboat was launched before the captain had given permission to begin doing so. Those in that boat fell victim to the Britannics tripple screw propeller system....

Re: Kate Winslet (Rose Dewitt Bukater)
I've been seeing Kate in an American Express commercial on TV. Wonder if the real reason why she did it, is because her husband, Sam, produced it?
Have anyone else seen her above commercial?
