Jacobovici suggests that the Exodus took place around 1500 BCE during the reign of Pharaoh Ahmose I, and coincided with the eruption of Santorini {Thera} that many scholars {including Dr Pellegrino*} agree ended the Minoan civilization. In the documentary, the plagues that devastated Egypt in the Bible are explained as having resulted from that volcanic eruption, and a related eruption in the Nile river delta. According to the documentary, God utilized instead of suspended his laws governing the universe to mark this event in the tablets of history. * I would highly recommend reading Dr. Pellegrino's "Unearthing Atlantis" which touches on this subject with significant detail. Pellegrino not only walks the reader through the demise of the Minoans, but also the terror Egypt endured as a result of the eruption that changed history and molded the very itself. The TBN channel, often shows a much more entertaining proof of Moses & the Israelites' trek through the Sinai Peninsula maza and to its eastside rather large beach area. There you will see the western shores of the Gulf of Aqaba, where they actually crossed, after God through Moses, parted the gulf waters. The researchers anchored their boat in the gulf, and went deepsea diving. On the gulf's floor, you can see the unmistakeble shapes of Pharaoh's broken chariot axels and wheels sticking up...where his army drowned as the gulf waters came back together after the Israelites crossed over to the Arabian side. In that same documentary, we saw the actual Mount Sinai's burnt peak where God met Moses at the top...and sketched-out the four Ten Commandments' tablets. Just down from the above mountain, there is is rock with a long slit made through it. It is this rock God commanded Moses to strike it with his staff...and out flowed water for the Israelites to drink. The Arabs have fenced-off an area where the Isrealites had worshiped that golden calf, and where the Ark of the Covenant was built from it.
