Re: THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE (2005 NBC-TV movie)
Me, too. MA! The original "Poseidon Adventure" is STILL the BEST version. Sorry, but the best moment in the newer "Poseidon" was when the ship sank.
I felt really sorry for the poor captain ending up playing MC. Thank goodness dear old Captain Smith was never subject to such humiliation.

How many Poseidon Adventure films have there been? I have seen 4 including Beyond the Poseidon Adventure.

Re: THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE (2005 NBC-TV movie)
Hey, Tom!
As far as I know the four "Poseidon" movies are the original "Poseidon Adventure", released in the early 70;s, "Beyond the Poseidon Adventure" also released in the 1970s , another "Poseidon Adventure" broadcast in 2005, and the latest, "Poseidon", which was released in 2006 and which as nearly as I can tell, flopped abysmally at the box-office.

Re: THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE (2005 NBC-TV movie)
I had nothing better to do than to watch this turkey (Poseidon, 2006) again and I indeed wish we could have one of those rolling on the floor laughing emoticons. Tis movie is even worse than I remembered...and I remembered it as being really bad.
I will heartily raise my cup of tea to the proposition that this film will not be remade...you guys are not Irwin Allen and shouldn't even try!

Re: THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE (2005 NBC-TV movie)
I was over at amazon.com and was reminded of a partiularly horrible "Posiedon" film, namely "Beyond the Posiedon Adventure". This is truly a film which should never have been made. The sets do't resemble those in the original (too pristine and undamaged, the acting is pretty bad, etc. I cheered when the Poseidon finally sank. I hae this on DVD and watched it again. I'll opt for charity and assume that the actors featured in this turked probably REALLY needed the work. It's really a shame because I really like Sally Fields, Karl Malden, Telly Savalas, and Slim Pickens. Their talents are truly wasted on this disaster.

Oh yes!!! Now I remember that sequel to the original TPA film that starred my favorite oceanliner--Queen Mary, herself!!!
Again, I agree with you there, re: your assessment about this sequel. It was a clunker for sure.
BTW, I've met Sally Field inperson, back in her The Flying Nun days, when this sitcom was filmed on the Screen Gems lot in Hollywood. My Mom served as a First Aid Nurse on this sitcom's set.
I also got to meet a couple of The Monkees too. They were, I recall; Peter Tork and Micky Dolenz...I don't think Davy Jones was there, though. Davy, due to his size, and the fact we both loved horses (he used to be a Jockey in England)...was my favorite Monkee, out of the four.
BTW, I met Micky again, on the Paramount Studio lot where I had begun working in the Production Insurance Office, under Billie Scott, as my Supervisor.
