I'm leaving on a cruise!
Come this June 18th-the 22nd, I'm leaving for a cruise onboard Royal Caribbean's Monarch of the Seas cruise ship.
Mary, a friend of my sister's-in-law, booked us the cruise...a cruise down the westcoast of Baja California. We board our ship down in Long Beach/L.A. (where Queen Mary is). Our outside cabins are on the portside of the ship. And yes, the QM is on our itinerary. Our stops are: Santa Catalina Island, San Diego, and Ensenada.
Meanwhile, I'm waiting for my renewed passport to arrive June 4th, via snail mail, so I can take it with me on the cruise.
Since I've never before slept onboard any ship, this should prove to be a very exciting cruise for me. Mary's sister-in-law, Carla is my cabinmate...while Mary, is my sister's-in-law.
It's a done deal too!!!

Re: I'm leaving on a cruise!
Congratulations MA! I may be leaving for one in July as well! It will be my first time on a ship, I can hardly wait to stand by the railings and watch the ocean go by. Of course, I know we'll both be pretending to be on a different ship, won't we, the Titanic!

Fabulous, Mr Titanic!!! That's wonderful news!!!
What's the name of your cruise line & ship, and when will you be leaving on your cruise? And yes, we will be thinking/dreaming that we're on a different ship , to being exact...that's for sure. Infact, Carla, my cabin mate, is herself, a TITANIC fan.
Speaking of our favorite ship, did you know that the Monarch only is just 2.5 feet shorter than ? She is, infact, she is 880 feet in length.

Re: I'm leaving on a cruise!
aww you guys! I am so jealous! Actually, I almost was going to be on a cruise holiday this year but my mum thought it would be better just driving down to Cornwall for a week and stay in a log cabin. But that should be fun too.
As well, I've been looking at things to do in my gap year and thought working on a cruise ship would be so ace! I've been flipping through books in my college library and thinking a Caribbean or Mediteranean (hope i spelt that right!) would be so cool! It's still early days but I'd lvoe that experience.

 Amy!
What a smashing idea!? You working on a cruise ship! Perhaps you could seek a job aboard one of Cunard's huge liners; QM2, QE2, or Queen Victoria...perhaps as a possible Cruise Director?
Then you could pretend you're working aboard Titanic...just like Mr Titanic & me pretending we're aboard her ourselves, as we're cruising aboard our perspective two ships. Eh!?
Anyhoo, I hope your dream of working aboard a ship...any cruise ship comes true for you.

Thanks a lot MA! I'd love to work on a cruise ship, maybe after university for my gap year (which is 5 years away) Right now, it's exam week so I'm revising like mad but after these exams I can start planning that trip to Florida. Can't wait! Your cruise holiday is not long off, is it? I bet you're all excited and getting ready to pack everything!
Have a great time!
