1st Officer William McMaster Murdoch
This thread is specifically for any kinds of questions about First Officer William McMaster Murdoch.
I will begin the discussion. On April 10, 1912, we all know that Will was aft on the docking bridge, operating the ship from his advantage point, that saved her from the near hit 'n' miss collision with New York - as she was sailing out the rivertest.
But, after Titanic dropped anchor in Cherbourg Harbour, later the evening, we don't know his exact whereabouts (nor same re: his fellow Junior Officers)...when the liner took on her newer waiting passengers (and disembarking passengers), from the WSL tenders; Nomadic & Traffic. Do we? Does anyone know?

I think that you, Lights, can best answer this question for me...
Do you know if whether or not Will knows how to swim? :titanic:

MA,
I don't know if this question is acceptable: I am a keen artist, I wondered if you have or know of a good picture of william Murdoch and/or his wife so that i could use them as a refernce picture? I know your avatar is of Ada, but do you know where i could go to see a bigger version of it?

Yes, Emma, I do have many beautiful pictures of both my Will and myself's PL photos. I will take a looksee under My Documents' file to find the best ones to post here. I have Will with/without a mustache. Which do you prefer him? :heyy:

Re: 1st Officer William McMaster Murdoch
ooh thanks MA,
I would prefer a picture of him without a mostache, not because he looks better without one, but because I am terrible at drawing facial hair I did a pic of captain smith and it took so long to make his beard look like a beard and not a skin condition lol.
If it's easier for you to email them to me, then just say so and I will send you a PM with my email address.

Re: 1st Officer William McMaster Murdoch
Via email, I just now sent you an enlarged version of my avatar. Next, I shall send you Will's photo(s), but first I need to know if you want one of him with/without his officer's cap? Because all the ones I have of him without his mustache, he is wearing that cap.
I'm also going to send you a close-up of his sweet expressive beautiful hazel eyes  <sigh>, for which he is wearing his mustache.

Re: 1st Officer William McMaster Murdoch
Charles Pellegrino's account/speculation on my Will's final hours aboard , April 15th, 1912. Read on... http://www.charlespellegrino.com/william_murdoch.htm
It is something both Lights & I knew all a long, but I did not know that he also went over to the port side of the ship to help out...after all his boats were loaded on the starboard side to help. Do you recall that, Lights?
Anyway, you guys can draw your own conclusions...

Re: 1st Officer William McMaster Murdoch
After rereading Charles Pellegrino's above site yesterday, I have discovered that the way he told about my husband's suicide...happened just as Will related it to me in our dream he shared with me. How ironic!? Huh!?!

Re: 1st Officer William McMaster Murdoch
Charles Pellegrino's analysis of the suicide is something I choose to accept as a very creative theory, and likely what actually happened that Night regarding Murdoch. In fact, that is what I base my information on when one asks me what I think happened to Officer Murdoch, the ideas and periods of time seem to tie in well with one another, not to mention the logic behind it. Dr. Pellegrino, I like to think did an excellent job of also incorperating Officer Murdoch's personality traits into his theory.

I agree totally with you there. Especially since Will told me first via our shared dream...and the other three dreams he followed-up on, as means of telling me "his" story "his" way.
