TSOLD Administration Guide

Any Administrator, Global or Forum Moderator a part of the Titanic "Ship of Lost Dreams" Administration staff are subject to the following rules and regulations.

The Administration Private Discussion Area is refered to as The Bridge.

Basic Terms

It is considered a privilege to rank as a Moderator or Administrator.

The Administrator will request a user to become either a Moderator or an Administrator at the time it is seen fit to do so. Please do not request to become an Administrator or Moderator, the rank and/or title will be assigned to you.

You are permitted the right to decline, once a member of our Administration presents you with the title of a Moderator or an Administrator. You are also allowed to resign once you feel the need to do so. Keep in mind however, that the privilege must be earned.

The task of an Administrator and Moderator is to modify and monitor the forum. It is ideal that the staff also guide users, as well as aide them should one require their assistance.

1) Moderators as well as Administrators have the Right to Delete as well as Edit posts, this includes the task of Monitoring. They are also permitted to move posts and threads to proper area's of the board when nessesary. This is categorized as modifying the forum.

2) Every individual should posses a reason for the actions one has comitted using their power.

Just because one has power does not mean one should use it, at the very least often. Attempt to remain fair and avert from using your title about the board.

3) Should an entire thread with more than one reply require attention, it should not be deleted, yet moved to The Bridge to be available for all members of the staff, there it will be cleaned out should it violate any rules, and moved to The Wreck if nessesary.

4) Threads in both The Bridge and The Wreck should remain hidden, regardless of security settings. Topics moved to any one of these forums should be marked hidden for the breif amount of time it is present there.

5) Please do not undo the work of another Moderator or Administrator. If you have any issues or opinions in regards to that task, move the thread, mention the user or whatever is required, to The Bridge for further discussion.

6) Should anything occur on the forum such as violation of the rules, it should be mentioned in The Bridge. Any action taken should be run through the remainder of the staff before carried out.

7) Once a Moderator or an Administrator edits or deletes a post, it must be accounted for in the Administration Discussion Forum. A wanrning or reason must be left in red at the base of the edited post to warn the user.

8) Keep in mind Internet Language is not permitted. Titanic related forums should be monitored and held at a level of sophistication on a daily basis.

9) Discussions with users are encouraged.

Banning

Banning a user is considered the final stage in their membership on the board. Suspension is for a period of time, but banning is for the remaining history of the board.

1) Any user who is in violation of a rule must receive a warning. Proof of these warnings must be presented in The Bridge once they have been issued. This way they are documented.

2) Banning is not encouraged. Wether a user will be banned or not will be disscussed in the Administration Discussion Forum, much like any action taken. Do not ban without the approval of the entire (or Majority) of the Administration staff. The name of the banned user must be placed in a thread among others in The Bridge.

3) In the event of a suspension, the user's name must be placed in a thread among others in The Bridge. The date that user will be re-admitted into the board should be present as well.
