Re: Encyclopedia Titanica Forum
Hello Tom, I haven't seen you here in ages.
I'm just perplexed, this topic is nearly six months old if not more, and it is being bumped? And to contribute a reply regarding someone who doesn't even concern this board? :brow:

Hello Mr Titanic,
I did not know that this topic was that old but I do think that it is important to reply to posts like this about me and my board as it is only fair that if the post is there I should be able to defend my board.

Hello Tom
You are likely right, providing I have done some forum re-arrangement and the threads were mixed up order-wise. Though, the nature of it also confuses me. "Defend"? Since when was this a war, and since when was it proper to discuss such matters within the Marconi Room? Now, I can understand your frustration, as I would do the same, yet PM was after all an option. Though, regardless of that, I'd like to note that MA has also clairified the source of her opinion, and you I trust are farmiliar with it as well. It was not just a general rant. Also, notice my reply Tom. It may also clear up a few things, regarding beliefs and opinions. I don't believe she said anything bad about you, just your choice. It was also just brought up in discussion.
I don't agree with this, so don't get me wrong (again, note my reply). But in all reality, I've barely seen you contribute Tom, to any discussion and once this negative post is brought into account, I see you are ready to reply. It doesn't seem logical to me. Though, I don't believe you are the only one either. Providing this comment/post/opinion was made so long ago, lets try to put it behind us, and let other boards administrate as they please. Lets also stay on topic, and I don't think this thread serves such a purpose.

Re: Encyclopedia Titanica Forum
Hello,
This will probably be my last post in this topic (unless you want me to post another).
The post is a negative post about me and my board, although I admit that it is old and is not anything serious but still it is a negative post and as I said in my post before if the post is there then I should be able to post a reply to it.
Yes, I agree PM is what should be used but I have no intensions of having any sort of argument with Tammy (I don’t even care that she has posted it). Again what I have a problem with is that the post is on the forum were anybody from all over the world can see it and I do not think it is fair for a post to be there about somebody else and their board if they can not post a reply to it to defend the board. If somebody had posted a negative post about your board on mine then I’m sure you would want to reply to it.
Please don’t get me wrong with this; I’m not trying to start an argument with you I’m just defending my board that is the only reason for my posts in this topic.
Tom

Re: Encyclopedia Titanica Forum
Hello Tom,
No problem, you have always been free to post at will and as you please. I only mentioned this because It seems to me the bulk of your posts on the community are only in this thread, and it doesn't seem very productive for anyone really.
Had someone posted a reply on your board about mine, there’s no denying it, I would want to reply. Though, did you note my previous reply, I said I would and that I understood your frustration. Though, since you bring up your board, I have contributed about 80 posts to Titanic discussions there, and you have managed about one here a while back.
Now about the root of this problem, the initial post. You see, did Tammy say anything negative against your board, or imply her opinion about another person there, and your decision? And to be honest, I disagreed as well, and I just decided to leave and not start up any drama about it all. I believe MA did as well. Also, let me note the abbreviations in her post.
Tom, I completely understand what point you are trying to make. I'm not siding with anyone, or stating your post was unnecessary. I did mention other means, and the nature of the post by statements. Like the use of the word "defend" and "defending" making this discussion sounds more like a war or debate. Which, like you mentioned isn't meant to be an argument. I am just attempting to analyze the situation, as I believe I'm entitled to do now that this has carried over. Really now, I don't agree with any of it. I haven't denied you the right to reply, and I do apologize if you were hurt, though I believe the post wasn't intended to hurt you, but merely an expression of opinion. However, it in general is not something I appreciate. It is old, and was shifted back up during forum re-arrangement.
Of course, I've always been a guy with an eye for a bargain, per se, so lets come to an understanding. Any public mention of your board here will be dealt with accordingly, and the same applies to your own board. This way, we can avoid friction between the two, and anyone likely taking offence or getting hurt.
