"A Night to Remember" - Back in print!
Over this weekend, I received my lastest THS TITANIC Commutator - Volume 30 - Number 176 - 2006 issue...and right on page 229, I discovered that Walter Lord's above book is back in print.
Quote: Here's a brief synobsis as to what his above book is all about...
The classic account of the final hours of the Titanic. First published in 1955, "A Night to Remember" remains one of the definitive tales of the sinking of the Titanic. Walter Lord interviewed more than sixty survivors before writing their vivid recollections to his minute-by-minute account of Titanic's fatal collision and the experiences of both passengers and crew under pressure of the unthinkable--the swift plummet into icy waters of the ship that wasn't supposed to sink. Walter Lord was the author of several best selling works of history including "Day of Infamy" on the attack at Pearl Harbor, "The Good years," a book on the Alamo and one on the evacuation of Dunkirk but he is best remembered for this riveting account of the disaster and why it is in every Titanic researcher's library.
Softcover 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 182 pages.
I'm going to check at my local bookstore to see if they can order me a copy, so I won't have to order from THS.
But those of you whom want to, here is its list number--#11ANTR06 $13.00. Here the link to their Website Museum Store:
