Edwardian Era People (Pictures)
Since many of us have great/great great grandparents/relatives whom lived in the Edwardian Era, this is where we can post pictures of them. So let's start digging into our families' photo albums and see if we can't get them posted here. Okay!?! :heyy:
Meet my gt. grandmother, Naoma Ruth Beckett. She was b. 26 May 1875 m. 13 Mar. 1894 to my gt. grandfather, John Henry Laster, b. 13 Mar. 1873. William McMaster Murdoch, as of 28 February 1873, was but a tweet 13-days old baby lad then...hence, making him thirteen days older than my gt. granddad.

Why, thank you, Bess, for your kind compliment regarding my gt. grandmother, Naoma. Your own gt. gt. aunt & uncle, Mary & William, are strikingly beautiful. He kinda looks like my Will, don't you think so too? :heyy:

Re: Edwardian Era People (Pictures)
about the photo above: At the time of the picture my gt. Grandmother was a widow at the age of 37. Her husband Godfrey Greatorex had died from wounds he recieved in the first world war. Margaret was heartbroken, she never remarried and died in 1941. she and Godfrey married om 4 June 1911.
Here is a picture of Margaret with her mother Sarah Wright nee Swainson. Sarah was born in 1848. I believe this photo was taken in the mid 1920's - 1930's. I know this 'photo is not Edwardian, but the people in it are, and that is the title of the thread - pictures of Edwardian Era people

Re: Edwardian Era People (Pictures)
Thank you Bess. I don't know when it was taken though I'm afraid. Looking at them and the garden and after some thought I reckon the photo was taken mid 50's early 60's. Sorry is came out so huge.
Your G/grandmother and her daughters were very pretty and I think they have very kind and gentle faces.
GF.

Re: Edwardian Era People (Pictures)
Bess, they "do" have similar chins, don't they? Your gt. grandmother and gt. aunt, and your grandmother, make for such a beautiful family. What darling pair of little girls they are too. I also took notice over the fact that Ada Murdoch nee' Banks; shares her age, widowhood, and passing year with your gt. grandmother, too. Another strange coincidence. Huh!?
GF, a bicycle built for two, definitely does fit into the Edwardian Era...because in Hayley Mills' Pollyanna, the same type of bike was used in a major scene in that delightful Walt Disney Film. For which they were holding a fundraiser for their local orphanage in the town of Harrington - later to be called 'The Glad Town'. Your grandparents make for a handsome pair.
Thank you both, for sharing your photos with us. :heyy:
