Question on the Carpathia
So, as I said in my introduction, I'm writing a fictionalized version of events--my main character is a passenger on the Carpathia, but I can't seem to find its schedule anywhere.
Does anyone know the date she departed and where she left from at the time she rescued the Titanic's passengers?

Welcome to TSOLD!
I'm pretty sure that the Cunard ship Carpathia had left her berth, in New York, April 11, 1912, with only 743 passengers onboard...and was bound for a Mediterranean cruise, when she got Titanic's distress call. She was only 58 miles away.
Good luck with your story, and I hope the above helps?

P.S. This may interest you to know that 1st/2nd Officer Charles Herbert Lightoller (nickname, Lights), the highest ranking surviving officer, was the last survivor to climb aboard Carpathia.

Re: Question on the Carpathia
It does!
Wow...a Mediterranean cruise, hmm?
That's what I get for studying just the Titanic for all these years....I thought Carpathia was headed for America, as well!
Boy, does this throw a kink into my story.

With Titanic's remaining survivors and lifeboats aboard, Carpathia did indeed have to return to New York. So therefore--you were half right.
If I may, and no offence, Mr Titanic...but, I highly suggest that you visit Encyclopedia Titanica board at:
Encyclopedia Titanica
They have lots of information on everything Titanic and other oceanliners...including Carpathia too.

Re: Question on the Carpathia
Encyclopedia Titanica is a treasure trove of information, both on Titanic and other ships. Also I thought for anyone who is interested, here is a link to Great Ships' page on Carpathia:
RMS Carpathia
Sadly, Carpathia did not survive WWI, having been torpedoed by the Germans on July 16, 1918.

Re: Question on the Carpathia
Thank you, Lightsy, for that link to our favorite rescue ship, RMS Carpathia, and her commander, Captain Sir Arthur H. Rostron. I loved reading the information supplied there, as well as seeing all those awesome photos of her, and Captain Rostron too. Grrreaaat Work!!!
