Re: An Interesting Statement of "The Grounding Theory"
Lights: Thank you for sharing that. I took a quick glance a the article (I plan to read it entirely once I complete my English assignment!) and I do feel that the second grounding image is rather excessive. The idea that Titanic glided along the ice shelf and punctured holes along her heel seems more appropriate than the dramatic tilt depicted in that example. The passengers reported a collision that seemed like sailing over "a thousand marbles" however, I don't believe anyone reported being tossed out of bed or such a heavy listing. The impact went unnoticed after all.

Re: An Interesting Statement of "The Grounding Theory"
I too have questions about that second image as well. However, please remember that the ship was heavily loaded with passengers, crew, baggage, freight, and provisions. Given that icebergs float, the weight of the ship on the ice shelf/reef would probably caused at least some listing of the berg. It still would not have been noticed on board Titanic since the listing would have happened to the berg and not the ship, I should think.
