A Question abt. Native Americans/American Indian Passengers...
I would like to know, should any Native American(s)/American Indian(s) are traveling with a set of First Class passengers (for which their fare is already paid)...how would they be received onboard Titanic?

Re: A Question abt. Native Americans/American Indian Passengers...
Good Question MA. At this point, first class aboard Titanic (or in the gilded edwardian age) is composed of a sophisticated heiarchy. Meaning, there is a social class and you're either in the club or you're out. What determines your popularity, no not money, yet title (Lord, Count, Countess, Colonel, etc) possesion and money most likley as the final contributing aspect. Usually, sadly, only those who are white at the time are more likley to express these characteristics.
They are not fond of "New Money". An example is Margret Brown. She is white, she is rich and she is American. Yet why is she the one who rarley is liked on board? Because she raised or found (Gold mine) her own money, it was not by blood or family. It is not acceptable for someone from the lower class to jump to the top of the pyramid so to speak and be accepted. It could have been taken offensive, like invading their territory. You simply would not belong.
An egyptian male, also shares this in common with Margret Borwn. He is rich, first class, and good looking. However, is he white? No.
Indians, they are loosing their land at this point to white people and imagrants from europe. They were thought of as savages when the America's were discovered. To first class, their dogs would have been more important. Besides, people from even Europe are traveling third class, what would make you think indians would have enough to travel first class? To board Titanic you would have had to go to Europe in order to sail the ship. Indians are not native to Europe as we are aware. Then, the indian per se, would have to afford a trip to Europe, back to New York (USA) from there on the Titanic. In other words, they couldn't afford it. I couldn't even today.
So it's a good what if situation, however, they absolutley would not have received positive attention. They would have been the core of gossip.

Then Carrie, in my fic story, can kindly remind these wealthy First Class snobs, that God loves all of us, no matter what the color of our skin is. To Him, there are no first, second or third class citizenry...for the American Indians are His creations too. That should shut them up, shouldn't it? Wonder how they would react to being reminded of that? :heyy:

Sound's good MA, but remember you need to get their attention in your fic, therefore I would use some personal tactics. However, I would strongly focus on how you will provide your character with the amount of money possible in order to afford the trips, to England and Back on Titanic!

Personal tactics? Please do share them with me.
In my story, Red Feather, the birth mother of Carrie's unofficially adopted Half-Northern Cheyenne son, Jimmy Lame Deer, is travelling with Miss King and Margaret Tobin Brown. RF also has two hats, for she has been invited to come along as the lad's nurse. But Maggie and Carrie treat her as an equal.
Later on in the story, after they are wed aboard the Carpathia by Captain Rostron. RF grants Will and Carrie Murdoch, her permission to allow them officially adopt her son. In order to give him not only an honorable surname - he will be raised by an wonderful man of a father. Coincidentally, the lad's newly adopted late great grandfather's name also is, James...Captain James Murdoch, that is.

Well personal tactics as in something that would effect them. Some thing clever and sharp, to get their attention. Experience works well too.
Sounds good, I like the Captain James Murdoch Well, I am sure you can make it work and I am excited to see what the outcome will be! Remember to post the complete copy with the title, and your signature in the Writing Room for reviews. I will be starting an archive as soon as we receive more fics!

I think that Carrie's mention of God, being the sole creator of ALL humankind, who loves us all. Would be the ideal attention-getter. Can't you just see the looks of approval on the faces of both, Maggie Brown, Col. Archibald Gracie, and Thomas Andrews?

Now that I have finally heard from my friend, Maureen...my worries are over...and can get on with my fic story. :bounce
Captain James Murdoch, really "was" Will Murdoch's grandfather. Meaning, he was for real! Without him, there would not be a Captain Samuel Murdoch, who would eventually father, then Chief Officer (now known as...) First Officer William McMaster Murdoch. :sailor:
