Re: TPT on Tour
i spotted gordon coming 3rd out of about 60 ppl at the western on friday night.
not sure wat the money was, i think it was a £20 freezeout. either way nice result m8.
the girl who won it is an absoulute ROCK! so she must have been getting slapped in the face by the deck!

Re: TPT on Tour
Mr Harrison took the whole thing down. Played some great poker.
Well done for being the last Lodge winner.

Re: TPT on Tour
I made my away debut last night at the western along with other tpt-ers and felt obliged to update those of you who rely on Twickenham as your sole source of poker.
Firstly I will start with some comparisons, bearing in mind these are my perceptions;
1. The fox is a far friendlier place to play poker, bad beats are part of the game but I saw some very unsporting behaviour at the tables last night.
2. One of the strengths of Steve's role as TD is he is fair, consistent and encourages good table manners/play/etiquette. At the Western you were almost encouraged to splash the pot, I noticed on more than one occasion players not putting as many chips into the pot as they had claimed. This makes things impossible to control. Secondly, string bets seem to be a regular occurence, without table managers this again goes unchallenged.
3. The standard of play, I was shocked, (but not disappointed) to see so much bad play in one evening. All of us are guilty of making occasional bad plays, but to raise all in pre flop UTG level 1 with AT and then be disappointed when AK calls and knocks you out? I won't bore you with more examples but suffice it to say the standard at the fox may not be WSOP standard but it is generally higher than I appreciated.
In summary, and the main reason for the post, is to thank Steve for running such an excellent poker club at the Fox (I am sure Frank does a great job at the CH, but I never play there). I now really appreciate how well it is run at TPT and how much my game (and I am sure others) has improved over the last 3 years.
Cheers Steve!
