The Onion
Last time I heard, the Onion have about 1000 stories to choose from for each publication. My understanding is that it's almost impossible to break into that paper / site as a writing venue.
Anybody know different?

I doubt they consider the thousand. If I understand how the Onion works right, it's that there is a pool of writers who formed early 90's and they've stuck together ever since.
You can't break them because the don't even consider material from outside.

The Onion is a rag. www.kamikazebrothers.com is up and coming. It has strict submisison policies from an educational standpoint and is created for the love of intelligence and humor, not money, but if you want to write, this is a place with a ton of readers. Dont expect to be paid- sometimes good fun is worth a hell of a lot more.
