"9 Summer Days" .. The Life and Times of the Vortex

No one knows for sure but many agree that Freedom Fighter Jackie Decker caused the shutdown of the Spoof Forum in early August.

One of the last posts at the Spoof was from Mr Decker August 13th .. a post that apparently management did not like.

Soon after that post, the Spoof forum ceased to exist.

Somehow, someway, one lone portal remained into the Spoof. Mr Decker was one of the first to find that portal, a portal soon to become known as "the Vortex".

Hello All and Produce Manager,

I just got an email via a reader of this post, and it leaves me sort of disturbed.

How many here feel I was the cause of the shutdown of the forum?

To all of those that do, I sincerely apologize.

I do hope my poll on 'the state of the spoof forum' wasn't the entire reason for the black out on the part of the admins. I originally posted it out of curiosity, as I'd never seen the forum in the state it was, and wondered if any or all felt it was what everyone wanted, or if....it wasn't?

To me, it seemed as if there were certain individual "muscles" that we're exercising, (or maybe exorcising), their rights to the exclusion of other's general spirit of participation. Maybe I was wrong in my analysis, which I was fully willing to accept...via the results of my poll.

I do feel I understand the general nature of forums and the wide range of expressions inspired by their (usually) free form structures of intent. I, myself, have participated in some super-flaming, yet creative forums, and it was understood that things could, and usually would get hot.

I had been participating in the[more pleasant] Spoof forums from the Lowton days, and had seen many changes, with new writers coming and going...like the weather, and about the time I posted the poll regarding the forum, I thought something very different was begining to occur, with several good writers no longer posting for reasons that seemed to possibly be due to trolling and pointed attacks.

Like I said before, I could've been completely off base here....., and to whomever I've possibly been a disservice, I humbly apologize.

           Sincerely, Jackie Decker

Btw, this is a great forum you've got here.

I never figured you for the culprit, Jackie.

Oh, btw... I'm Jennifer Gardner.

In my own selfish way, I figured it was because of me, Brianna, and Rich, and our dirty candy heart avatars.

The forums were (and still are) pretty pathetic. Here is much better.

Plus I have posting privileges here. emoticon

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Mz jenna, please don't pull the plug.

whew.

Actually, Mr Decker you are basically our hero. (mine at least)

The forum was going to come down any way.you
were one of the few to have the courage to post what you felt. Your post if not someone else's was enough for the powers that be to pull plug. You didn't even flame the Spoof management, just fairly looked at all that was going on, (even the candy hearts darvijen). Your voice Mr Decker was the voice of reason. I was up that night monitoring the system, I saw it as it unfolded.
(even the candy hearts darvijen)

So, take it all as an honor, a compliment, we've been waiting for you to show up here.
The term "Freedom Fighter" was not used in jest. If the spoof had not fallen, the Vortex would not have been created and this fine place would never have come into existence.
Welcome comrade and enjoy the new world. You will live long and proudly in Vortex history.

ok Mz Jenna.
You can pull the ..

Thank you, Manny, for paying such close attention to my candied hearts.

I was actually outlining my next spoof story (unpublished and as yet, unwritten) with my candied hearts. It was about an envelope with a low self esteem (lick me) who got a job in a strip club (suck me), and then met up with a gorgeous squirrel (nut sack).

But unfortunately thespoof stifled this brilliance.

not to worry darvijen. It will find readership. Good idea too. An entire story based on candy hearts. After that, how about a ransom note built entirely out of candy hearts. Or,
maybe a Bush Twins speech presented via candy hearts or ..

somebody stop me

DARVIJEN -> Stop.

I like the ransom note idea.

Or how about a dissertation presented in candied hearts?

Candy heart street signs.

Candy heart cell phones.

Alphabet Soup Candy Hearts.

Letters from camp to ma and pa...

Dear Ma, Pa, Fido,

You'll have to forgive me, but I ate all my W candy hearts. In fact, in the last sentence I had to use an M upside domn.

Camp is fun but I'm homesick. Love you lots.

love,
your daughter Milma

"had to use an upside M" .. good one.

Don't forget the candy heart bank robbery.

ROBBER -> Give it to me.

CLERK --> Bite Me.

ROBBER -> Bang !

that Bang is a new one I just made up. Who do you submit candy heart ideas to and how much can you make being a candy heart author?
