Hmm, I have a response, but it looks like I can only upload a link to an image url and not the image itself. I guess I need a web page.
By the way, thanks for the larger version of the pic, Bree. My aging eyes couldn't quite figure out what it was in the smaller version.
Why does your cheerleading partner need to know what time it is and, if he does, what happens when he checks his watch?

Bigger in Texas?
Ah, I've figured out how to get an image on here.
Some time ago, I investigated the oft-heard claim that everything is bigger in Texas (repeated here by Produce and Bree) and found that the claim is not entirely true. The specific methodology of my investigation has been sealed by court-order and cannot be posted here. However, I am able to offer a an explanation of the origins of that claim.
Before Texas could be annexed by the United States it had to be surveyed. Two of the surveyors dispatched by President Tyler, Ezra Poundme and Cornelious Holio, were also practitioners of the then new science of anthropology. Their mission, as well as surveying the country, was to study and report on the habits and lifestyles of the strange natives of the new land.
While surveying the Galveston area, Poundme came upon a structure that caused him to report, "it seems that everything in Texas is required to be of unusual size and stature to accomodate the needs of its denizens."
The Smithsonian has recently completed a reconstruction of the original structure using the diagrams contained in Poundme and Holio's report of 1844. A photo of that reconstructed edifice is included below for your convenience.

BTW: Did you edit the cheerleading photo or did you manage to tuck it in somehow?
