Elton will sing opening arguments at Michael Jackson's trial.

Elton John Scheduled To Open Jackson Trial

Santa Maria, CA (BHN) - In a near unprecedented move by Michael Jackson's legal team, opening statements for the Pop Icon Superstar will be musically performed by Michael's good friend Sir Elton John. Only once before in celebrity trial history has such a tactic been utilized, that when Liberace sang his own opening statement to jurors at the beginning of his "drunk and lewd in public" trial.

Santa Maria District Attorney Tom Sneddon's objections were over-ruled by Judge Rodney Melville. "Unfortunately Mr. Sneddon, there is a precedent set for such opening statements and as much as I would like to keep this trial from turning into a rock concert, my hands are tied and I have no choice but to allow Mr. John to present Mr. Jackson's case to the jury in any form that they deem to be most favorable for their own defense." said Judge Melville to Sneddon's unwavering objections.

Lead attorney Thomas Mesereau told Blue Humor, "We have several other celebrity tricks up our sleeve, but having Elton present the opening statement in song should be our big one. This goes to credibility, Michael's credibility and having Sir Elton John, a world respected superstar entertainer, sing to the jury that 'Michael is innocent,' well, it should have a huge and very positive impact on the entire trial."

Blue Humor has learned that two of the opening songs will be a re-written renditions of, "Don't let the sun go down on me" and "All the young girls love Alice." There are also been rumors floating about that HBO will be video taping the performance for airing at a later date, providing that Michael is acquitted. Programs for Elton's performance are being printed up and will be made available for a reasonable price to courtroom attendees and the general public.

Heh, very good, JJ.

Flesh it out a bit more and I think it can be a good story.

Give some description of Elton John as he sings a few verses. I can just see him wearing those crazy glasses in the courtroom. Or have the courthoue special order a grand piano for him at the tax payer's expense. Make a real circus out of it.

I agree, I see several places where I could have colored it up a bit. I'll definitely work on that. This story has already become outdated... the next one will have more color... and thank you for the feedback darviJen. Let this be a model of how to provide good constructive criticism. Image

You're forgetting that Sir Elton is gay and gay = pedophile.

My money is on that Elton is not called as a witness.

I think the ridiculous list of witnesses that could be called was probably a way of playing the media and the jury without have to really present them as witnesses. Just saying that you could call those people is a kind of good character witness. To some people... who like Elton John... and Jay Leno...

Kind of sloppy I know.

If you can get someone to sing that track, OR flesh out the rest of the lyrics then you'll be onto something. Main artcle was good too.

very good JJ. You too darvijen. Let's hope Elton doesn't also sing

"I remember when rock was young"

and spill the beans about Michael and the baby crocodiles.

That could hurt the case a tad.

Thank You Produce!

In this whole MJ trial thing, I feel most sorry for the poor bastards who have to live and drive in Santa Maria. I lived there 3 years ago and traffic was a bugger then. Throw in one superstar and his family - and an the entire spectrum of television, print and radio news reporters... and it just sounds ugly traffic-wise.

My money is on acquittal. Jury will find for MJ by determining accuser's mother to be money-hungry, cold hearted, calculating, crack-smoking, street walker who would sell her own child for a buck and attempted to do so with MJ.

That's kinda where I see it going... can anyone imagine MJ in jail?

Thank ye kindly - our pickle pal pointed me to that prickly place in a post in the past posting period, a day or two back. I think I need to get rid of some pee (words) in the previous post perhaps... what a pickle!

I spent an hour or so mumbling to myself in there (Chat Room) the other night. Once, DarviJen started bouncing in and out of the lobby - there she was - there she wasn't... about 35 - 40 times... I figured it were a bug or something???

I'll be hangin' out more in the UP forum and chat... I just need to find the energy to keep up with you wild and crazy ladies of the night.

Must've been. I usually get in there and stay until my session expires. Sometimes I don't check it ... other windows open, ya know. But if you show up, I'll eventually notice you in there. Like tonight. I noticed you and then you left right after.
