Re: BBC Writing Competition
We may as well go ahead and win it. Then we'll have to move to England. Eat broth.
Is that what you folks eat Russus? Dr J? Broth?
RUSSUS -> Broth AND pudding. Sometimes we even add flavor to the pudding. The broth too.

Re: BBC Writing Competition
Intriguing....
Marks & Gran - Birds of a Feather, The New Statesman
Paul Mayhew Archer - My Hero, The Vicar of Dibley
Bain & Armstrong - Peep Show
Carla Lane - Bread, Butterflies
Jonathan Harvey - Gimme Gimme Gimme
Trix Worrell - Desmonds, Porkpie
Ian Pattison - Rab C Nesbitt
Brown & Hendrie - My Family
I wish I knew even a little about these shows.
Anybody here know of them?

Re: BBC Writing Competition
Nope. All Brit sitcoms. I've seen 'The Vicar of Dibley' coz Miranda sent me a vid. I think that's still on air; the others are old shows from way back. Gotta say, I wouldn't even try for this coz going by the 'Vicar of Dibley' the humor's nuthin; like we're used to over here, Abdul.
Lotsa Brit slang, topical UK allusions and stuff that meant nuthin to me.

Perhaps you're right. We can pickup on and laugh at Basil Faulty or Python but lots of their humor is so topical we'd have to live there for a couple of years to begin to understand their culture, their laff buttons.
They're still awfully clever though with words.

Re: BBC Writing Competition
I forgot to mention (and I forgot to do it), a while back the Bravo network had a contest where you got to create an entire sitcom script.
