Thanks for joining our forum Erika I know you are from the Run board and proberly do not have an interest in our forum in general but we do appreicate you joining up.

I see you like Chips, I use to watch that show alot. Not one I would say I was what you would call a devoted fan, but it was never the less a great show for its time.

I know years later they had a made for TV movie of Chips, is that right? Where they brough the cast back, in more upto date roles. I missed that and never got a chance to see it, maybe you could tell me how if at all I could see that sometime, is it available anywhere, maybe on line to watch? Thanks
Larry

Hello Larry.

Thanks for your interest. Yes there was a movie CHiPs99, but I have to be honest to say it was a flop. The reason for this is because of there being season 6 in chips the movie followed on from season 5, so they really kind of wiped out season 6 if you like, which was really silly.

But now there is a movie penned, and will star Wilmer Valderamma as Ponch. Should start filming next year with some luck.

Erik Estrada (Ponch) is a member on our board, he has posted a few, but not for a while as he is so busy.

There are lots of Chips fans around, but a lot of them are just too scared to admit it. So good for you.

Thanks again Larry, and very good luck in the competition.

Hi there,

Just doing a quick check to see how things are going and answer any questions that may have popped up on the polls.

I am also a general sci-fi fan and was wondering about a couple of things concerning the Star Trek universe.
1. Wasn't there a planet located in the Neutral Zone? I seem to recall a episode about it but can not find it mentioned anywhere...
2. Besides Risa where there any other "pleasure planet's" in the Star Trek universe... I thought Mud had one with programmable robots but again can not find it mentioned anywhere...

Not sure without an exstensive study but maybe this will help.

the USS Yamato crossed into the Neutral Zone to prevent the Romulans from finding the Iconian home world, an abandoned planet that contained highly advanced technology.

As far as Pleasure Planets go, Risa was proberly the most famous, but there was others
Wrigley's was one of them as well as one mentioned called Ripley's, I would think there would be others.
Not sure if the one Mudd was on was so much a pleasure planet as it was a planet that had 500 plus androids at his beck and call, but it was all a ploy of them escaping to futher their agenda.

There are several planets in the Neutral Zone I'd imagine, yet most of which are uninhabited which is why the buffer space was chosen. It was explained once (perhaps not canon) that the area of space was selected because the lack of intelligent life on them.

The only other 'pleasure planet' I recall by name is Casperia Prime. It was mentioned in a DS9 episode as a alternative to Risa. Probably not as indulgent, but personally if the Star Trek universe existed, Risa wouldn't be where I'd go. I go on vacation, I prefer least other vacationers as possible. (:
