Re: Blackfoot
Hey Guys
Captain Roop here, just thought it was time to jump in and say how well pleased I am with the progress of the new and very much improved Blackfoot.
I could not be more pleased at the new direction it is going.
For sure it is developing into one tough fighting machine. I can not wait to see the different pods or add on modules if you will as she takes shape.
The great thing on this new model is that we will have many many different views to chose from and of course all of those views can be showcased with the various pods attached as well.
I am looking forward to the Commander bringing in the new Blackfoot to some of his fantasic beautiful space backgrounds, it will be just awesome.
And like Darren said it would be cool to see some great animations take place with this ship as well.
We only have about 3 pictures of the interrior of the bridge and that is it with no mesh to get anymore out of. So I guess we need to see what can be done for finding somebody to work on the interrior, I would think it should not take near as much to do that as it does for Grandeur herself.
Well Gentleman keep up the great work, I look for new updates with baited breath as they say. Everybody is doing a great job and each of you should be real proud at your ongoing accomplishments. Carry on

Re: Blackfoot
Hey, guys!! Brian was working on the new Blackfoot today and here's what he said (small editing by me)...
Smallworld wrote
Sorry not to be in touch sooner, lots going on here at the moment. I'm afraid that I didn't get anything done on the weekend, the weather was brilliant and I went out boating instead.
Since the scale shift, the rear end is a lot bigger than we originally thought. Here she is with a person for scale at the rear end…
… Now, how about some kind of shuttle or escape pod in this area?
... The top and bottom prongs of the main hull could act like docking clamps and hold a smaller ship? This could be a really cool feature…
… The upper prong could house an extending gantry, which could lower a vehicle, habitat module (or camouflaged spy shelter), cargo pod, or a scout shuttle? Don’t worry about the ship here (in the pic), its a quick shoebox shuttle to show the size possible. Ten people (could fit inside) at a pinch should be OK. What do you think of the concept?
Think about rear payloads in the mean time. I think guns can go anywhere, don’t worry about the flak guns. How about a couple of combat drones? Small ships that can separate from the main one with phasers or missiles on board that can maneuver separately and cause tactical headaches to opponents. Could scout out dangerous space too. Hmmm, lots of things that they could do...

Re: Blackfoot
Hello All!
I like the idea the the Blackfoot will "dock" instead of "land" on the Grandeur. One idea I just had, with the "dock", will the dock-link just be for people to ingress/egress the Blackfoot or are there secondary links to the Blackfoot as well (Engineering link to use the Blackfoot as secondary or triary power source for the Grandeur in an emergency? Thinking of the old Transformers:Powermasters series. )
Keep up the great work!

Re: Blackfoot
You ask a good question, I know that we have discussed it a little bit but even now I am not totally sure all the ways to get to the Blackfoot.
I believe there is an entry point from somewhere back of the bridge, coridoors ect. and obviously in an emergency situation there is always site to site transport.
I think we all need to be clear on this so I refer to Commander Sexton and or the designers of the Bridge and beyond to answer this for sure.
Thanks for askking the question enquiring minds want to know.
The Captain
