I need stitching advice
So, here's the problem...
I have a pattern that I would love to get started on. I've had it for quite a while, but I've been too scared. The reason? The pattern is extremely small and it's got quite a few details/colors. So, here's what I think I'd need to do:
Either:
A. Photocopy it and enlarge it. The problem with this is that it would mean piecing it back together, and I could end up with a very HUGE pattern.
B. Use one of those magnifier things. The problem with this is that I don't stitch at a table, or even sitting up. I tend to stitch curled up on the couch, which would mean the magnifier would most likely not stay put and would slide off my leg (which is where my patterns usually rests).
C. Deal with the smallness, get used to squinting, and hope I don't make too many mistakes.
But, I'm hoping that maybe there is an option I haven't thought of, or maybe some of you would have some insight into the dilemma.

Re: I need stitching advice
Like Tabbie said, with large patterns, work from individual sheets - as long as you know which sheet is which, you'll be fine. You just finish one sheet before starting the next. My large Monet work-in-progress has over 15 sheets (I'm on the 6th at the moment)

Do you have a picture of what you're working on Jackie?

Monet
Link above. This is a long-term project - I only pick it up when I have time between my other commitments (birthday cards, RRs etc), so it will probably take me years to complete. It's got 90 colours, so lots and lots of colour changes (often only two or three stitches in one colour before changing again), which makes it very slow, but beautifully detailed.

Re: I need stitching advice
Okay, it sounds like the best thing to do is to enlarge it. I can do that here at work.
Thanks for all your input!
