Kids say the darndest things....

Courtesy of two angels in my class...

'I work in a childhood but they make it very hard work' a sentence written by Lee to use the word childhood

Yesterday Charlie was causing problems so Rajvir came to tell me that he was being racist. I called Charlie over and asked him what he'd done. His response was he hadn't been racist but had called her (and he spelt it out so as not to say the word 'a b.i.c.h.' emoticon I looked him straight in the eye, told him he'd mispelt it, told him there should have been a 't' in there and then told him I wanted to see him in my classroom each lunch time next week for swearing!! emoticon

 :D
I was horrified when I sat in on a ''show and tell'' at my kids school, I didnt realise how much they TOLD!
One kid stood up and told us all:
'' My poppy wanted to go to the bottle-o cos he ran out of beer, dad wouldnt let him take the car . Mum went for him, she said to shut him up.''
The poor man arrived smiling and jovial to collect his darling grandson at the end of the day!Arent they horrors!

We were talking about this yesterday. Kids can only lie to save their own necks! If you try and get them to cover up or not tell what happened it's the first thing out of their mouths. I love talking to kids, you learn sooooooo much emoticon

Re: Kids say the darndest things....

I was just reminded of an awful thing I did when my eldest was only two (the guilt has stayed with me!)
She was at that age when I was followed all day long.. emoticon I went up to the loo and thought Id get 5 mins peace. After about a minute I heard the familiar bump, bump-bump as she made her way slowly upstairs in pursuit. She arrived at the door and I heard a little voice ''mum, you In there?''
I replied ''No Im not''
Another few seconds passed and I heard the familiar bump, bump-bump as she headed back off downstairs looking for me, bless her!
Thats that big bossy 9 year old Ive got now. Boy how things have changed.LOL

Re: Kids say the darndest things....

Here's one i can remember.

We have a nickname for my sister, we call her jelly belly, now she didnt know about the nick name till one of the little ones told her last year.

She had phoned to say she was coming up and we were expecting her. Well as you could imagine i swore just a little bit and said S*** jelly belly is coming. Gemma was only 3 at the time and was into repeating everything you say, so she was chanting jelly belly. Well when my sister arrived Gem was at the top of the stairs and in her loudest voice possible she shouted "Hello Jelly Belly". I couldnt get away quick enough for laughing, my sister asked where she had had that from. I told her i didnt know, but she managed to worm it out of us by the time she left. Luckily she saw the funny side of it and now pulls faces at us when we call her jelly belly, though at the min shes not as shes heavily pregnant with baby number 4

Talking of toilets Marion shouted for me a couple of mornings ago.

I'd just got up and went to the loo (I have an en suite) and she shouted from her bed "Mummy are you doing a wee wee", so I said yes I was. Just as I was about to flush she shouted "are you not doing a poo then" emoticon

Oh yeah when we were at my parents she followed Dad into the loo and was chattering away to him and then the next thing you heard "oh get off, go and find your Mummy", followed by "Grandad what's that worm?"

I nearly wet myself laughing emoticon
